Core Game Concept
Zach is a bounty hunter that loves helping others. his main drive for Hunting is to make the world a safer world to traverse. he tends to spend most of his free time collecting weird Items to bring home. he tends to be a hoarder thus explaining his whole concept of fighting with an array of weapons and Cards he has collected around the world. Zach's main way of hunting is a Haunted Book full of cards that he found one day washed ashore when he was just a kid. little did he knew the cards he held in his possession were from Davey jones locker. ever since playing with those cards he learned he had cards that can hold items and lend him abilities such as powers that belong to the monsters of the seas such as leviathans signature Water Beam canon. The monster Cards are cards Zach can only attain by capturing them. the cards that he has attained are able to interact with Zach and communicate their thoughts and desires to him, but those desires have to be fulfilled or else he is torn apart by the monsters of the sea. Leviathans Desire was to be free and see the world.
Zach is forced to feel a bond to these cards in order to use them, so he has to connect with each monster card he comes into possession with.
as stated, before Zach fights with the haunted book. he has an array of weapons he can summon and abilities. in this game he will travel around different lands exploring in search of new cards and bounties to just make it by. the worlds will be an array of large islands inhibited by an array of different species such as fish people, demi humans, and very hostile pirates. you will meet people in this game by the ports and occasionally at villages and cities scattered throughout the land. you can do quests and collect bounties by looking around or checking the board Infront of the sheriff's office. quest would vary from a variety of things such as fighting foes, fishing, hunting and gathering items for people.
on top of having small quests like that you will need to do bounties to make money and find cool items and cards. quests will have markers on them to imply their importance such as yellow quest are for story mission to progress with collecting the seven cards and learn more about the fierce Davey jones and your haunted book.
combat will boil down to you selecting your cards that you will depend on in battle and beating your opponents to a pulp. besides your book you have you trusty grappling anchor which allows you to traverse the world when you book isn't able to help. the grapple anchor is also good for chaining combos by grabbing your foes to bring them into range for combos.
you will also have a variety of weapons such as to pistols, daggers, a sword and so on.
enemies in this game will boil down to common bandits that attempt to ambush you attempting to steal your haunted book since Davey jones put you on his radar for having his book. foes will range from fish people, human bandits and skeletons all wanting to take his book back.
